The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 13.04.2007 which expired on 12.04.2017. He was embroiled in FIR No. 112 dated 13.04.2014, under Section 68/1/14 of Excise (Malt Liquors) Act, 1890 registered at Police Station Sector-36, Chandigarh. The trial court vide order dated 15.05.2014 imposed fine of Rs. 1000/-.

birth in the passport, thus, he may be directed to reply to the show cause notice and appear before passport authority alongwith requisite documents. 4.

Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement. 5.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioner to appear before passport authority on 18.04.2024 alongwith reply to show cause notice and requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order within six weeks from 18.04.2024.
