A complaint by one Jagjit Singh was received by post claiming that his mother has been illegally detained by police since 20.04.2020. 2.

The said postal letter was ordered to be listed on judicial side treating the same as habeas corpus petition.

In response thereto, State of Haryana has filed its reply denying the allegations of the complaint. It is averred that alleged detenue i.e. mother of the petitioner and her family members have been involved in as many as nine different FIRs and she was taken into custody in FIR No. 261 dated 20.04.2020, registered under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act Police Station City, Rohtak.

In view of the reply filed by State of Haryana, no further interference is warranted. The petition is disposed of having been rendered infructuous. However, the petitioner or his mother would be at liberty to avail any other remedy available under law, if so advised.
