Prayer in the present petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for directing respondents No. 1 and 2 to conduct a fair and impartial investigation in the complaint bearing No. 9343, dated 24.05.2022 (Annexure P-1), moved by the petitioner against the private respondents No. 3 to 6 for committing atrocities upon the petitioner for demand of dowry, misappropriated the property and thrashing the petitioner out from the matrimonial house.

A status report, dated 05.04.2024, by way of an affidavit of Smt. Anju Bala, PPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, Crime Against Women, Amritsar, along with Annexures R-1/T to R-5/T is already on record. A copy of the inquiry report in vernacular is also on record. 3.

In view of the aforesaid affidavit, the matter was inquired into upon the representation received from the complainant. Having found no cognizable offence made out as per the inquiry reports Annexures R-2/T, RNitin 2024.04.20 18:42 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

However, regarding representation dated 15.03.2024 (Annexure P-2), it is mentioned in the status report that though the said representation has not been received in the office of the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, however, so far as the protection of life and liberty of the petitioner is concerned, the Police Department is duty bound to protect the same for every citizen.

In view of the above, as well as in view of the ratio of the judgment of Hon'ble the Supreme Court given in M.Subramaniam and another vs. S. Janki and another 2020 (2) RCR (Criminal) 788, the present petition petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to avail alternate remedy, as per law.

Pending miscellaneous application (s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
