(ORAL) The instant Criminal Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of directions to official respondent Nos.2 and 3 to provide adequate protection to their life and liberty at the hands of respondent Nos.4 and 5. At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that let this petition be disposed of only with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Faridkot (respondent No.2) to consider and decide the representation dated 20.03.2023 (Annexure P-4) alleged to have been submitted by the petitioners seeking protection for their lives and personal liberty.

Accordingly, and without commenting upon the merits of the claim of the petitioners and even the assertions set out in the petition, the same is disposed of only with a direction to respondent No.2 that if any such representation, as indicated above, is indeed pending consideration, it shall be dealt with expeditiously in accordance with law.
