NIDHI GUPTA, J. (ORAL) Prayer in this criminal writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for issuance of a direction to the respondents to consider and decide the premature release case of the petitioner in the light of Punjab Government premature release policy dated 08.07.1991 (Annexure P-2) which was prevailing at the time of conviction of the petitioner vide judgment dated 09.09.2011 as well as Punjab Government instructions dated 23.10.2011 (Annexure P-3) as the petitioner has opted to undergo his imprisonment in Open Air Agriculture Jail, Nabha.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that at this stage, he would be satisfied if, a direction is issued to the respondents to consider and decide the premature release case of the petitioner in a time bound manner.
