Versus
State of Punjab
...Respondent
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE H.S. MADAAN Present:- Mr. Vikas Gupta, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Ramender Sandhu, Sr. DAG, Punjab.
*** This petition for regular bail has been filed by petitioner Ramandeep Singh @ Mahana, an accused in F.I.R. No. 357 dated 22.09.2014 under Section 22 of the NDPS Act registered with Police Station City, District Tarn Taran facing trial before Judge, Special Court Tarn Taran. He had moved a similar application in the Court below but the same was dismissed, as such he has approached this Court. Admittedly the recovery of contraband involved amounts to commercial quantity. In that way, Section 37 of the NDPS Act come into play. Therefore, the petition cannot be accepted. The same is accordingly dismissed. However, the trial Court is directed to conclude the trial expeditiously by giving short adjournments, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this Court in the Court.
