**** ANITA CHAUDHRY, J This petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No. 273 dated 7.9.2007 registered under Sections 406, 498A IPC, Police Station Nakodar, District Jalandhar. The parties were married in April 2007 and a divorce decree by mutual consent was passed in December 2008. The parties had entered into a compromise and respondent No. 3 had agreed to get the FIR quashed. The petitioners filed CRM No. 25974-M of 2008 for quashing of FIR on the basis of compromise but respondent No. 3 did not cooperate and did not appear in the Court and that petition was dismissed. Counsel for the petitioners contends that after the compromise, respondent No. 3 had got remarried and this Court had stayed the proceedings.

Crl. Misc. No. M-29053 of 2010 -2The case had been adjourned a number of times for filing reply on behalf of respondent No. 3. The previous order shows that respondent No. 3 had been summoned but she failed to appear on the last date of hearing.

Counsel representing respondent No. 3 had stated that he had instructions to say that respondent No. 3 had no objection if the FIR is quashed. The counsel was asked to file her affidavit. Today, affidavit of respondent No. 3 has been filed according to which respondent No. 3 has no objection if the FIR is quashed. In view of the above circumstances, the aforesaid FIR and all the consequent proceedings conducted on the basis thereof are quashed as the matter had been amicably settled.

The petition is allowed.
