(Oral) The prayer in the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to release the petitioner prematurely forthwith on usual terms and conditions as per Government Policy dated 12.04.2002 (Annexure P-1).
The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, at this stage, the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the appropriate authorities to consider his legal notice (Annexure P-2) in accordance with the law.
