On 22.03.2024, this Court had passed the hereinafter extracted order:- "Through the instant petition, prayer is made for issuance of mandamus upon the official respondents to ensure the protection of life and liberty of the present petitioners. At this stage, without issuing notice to the State, the learned State counsel is directed to file the status report, whether, is there any real threat perception to the life and liberty of the present petitioners.

Adjourned to 9.4.2024."

Today, in compliance of the directions (supra), the learned State counsel has filed the requisitioned status report, on affidavit of Satnam Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Sri Muktsar Sahib, which is taken on record.

The status report makes revelations that, after conducting a DEVINDER YADAV 2024.05.02 14:00 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-2702-2024 2024:PHHC:058849 detailed inquiry, it has surfaced that there is no threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of the private respondents No.5 to 7. The relevant paragraph(s) of the status report are reproduced hereinafter:- "13.

That a detailed inquiry report no.

210/Lit/Reader/DSP/SMS dated 20.04.2024 was submitted to Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib by the deponent and the same has been approved by Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar sahib.

14. That there is no threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondent No.5 to 7." 4.

In view of the above, when there does not exist any threat perception to the petitioners, therefore, no further direction is required to be made and consequently, the instant petition is closed. 5.

Disposed of accordingly.
