SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 6, brother and other relatives of petitioner No.1. Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 22.07.2015 (Annexure P-7) made by petitioner No.1. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Sandeep Kaur is 29.10.1989 as per copies of Aadhaar Card and Passport (Annexures P-1 and P-2) and that of petitioner No.2-Tejinder Singh is 22.08.1988 as per copies of Passport and Matriculation Examination Certificate (Annexures P-3 and P-4). They got married on 22.07.2015. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-6. At this stage, Mr. Jasdev Singh, Advocate has appeared on behalf of Baljinder Singh, maternal uncle (Mama) of petitioner No.1. In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar to look into the representation dated 22.07.2015 Annexure P-7 (addressed to Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of certified copy of this order along with representation in his office. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
