Rajiv Kumar v. State Of Punjab
In the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, at Chandigarh Criminal Misc. No. M-24627 of 2017 Date of Decision: 13.07.2017 Rajiv Kumar ... Petitioner(s)
Versus
State of Punjab ... Respondent(s)
CORAM:
Hon'ble Mr. Justice Shekher Dhawan.
Present:
Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Advocate for the petitioner(s).
Shekher Dhawan, J.
Present petition has been filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 964 dated 5.12.2016, registered under Section 135 of Electricity Act, 2003 at Police Station Anti Power Theft Cell, PSPCL, Patiala.
Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that petitioner could not join the investigation as he was not duly informed by the counsel. The facts of the case have been considered by the learned Court below and the petitioner was granted discretionary relief by granting him the benefit of interim bail and he was directed to join the investigation and he even failed to do that. At this stage, there is absolutely no ground for releasing the petitioner on anticipatory bail and thus, present petition stands dismissed. (Shekher Dhawan) Judge July 13, 2017 "DK"
