ARVIND SINGH SANGWAN J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for quashing the FIR No.168 dated 18.11.2014 registered under Section 406 IPC at Police Station City Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Reply by way of affidavit of Superintendent of Police, Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib has already been filed on behalf of respondent No.1. As per the reply, a cancellation report has been prepared on the basis of a writing given by PUNSUP vide letter dated 24.06.2015 that the shortage can be recovered from the petitioner. Counsel for the State, on instructions from HC Jarnail Singh, submits that the cancellation report shall be presented before the trial Court/Illaqa Magistrate within a period of 45 days from today. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of having been rendered infructuous with liberty to the petitioner to file afresh petition, if so required.
