Mr. Sukhmeet Singh, Advocate, for the complainant. SUVIR SEHGAL, J. (Oral) The Court has been convened through video conferencing due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Through the instant petition, the petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in case FIR No.17 dated 13.03.2020 registered under Sections 420, 120-B of Indian Penal Code, 1860 at Police Station Purana Shalla, District Gurdaspur.

While granting interim protection to the petitioner on 22.05.2020, this Court passed the following order:- "Inter alia submits that an agreement dated 16.10.2018 was entered into between Salinder Kaur and the mother of the complainant, whereunder, a sum of Rs.6.00 lacs was given to the mother of the complainant as the complainant had gone to USA and was stuck in a detention camp. Notice of motion for 10.8.2020.

In the meantime, the petitioner is directed to join investigation with the Investigating Officer on 5.6.2020 at 10.00 a.m. and cooperate therewith. In the event of his arrest, he shall be released on interim bail to the satisfaction of the Investigating Officer/SHO concerned subject to his compliance of the conditions enshrined under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C. A photocopy of this order be placed in the file of other connected case."

Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Daljit Singh submits that the petitioner has joined investigation and is no longer required for custodial interrogation.

In view of the above facts, but without commenting on the merits of the case, the present petition is allowed and the order dated 22.05.2020 granting interim bail to the petitioner is made absolute, subject to the conditions laid down in Section 438(2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
