The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to refund the share of petitioners contributed by them towards "New Defined Contributory Pension Scheme" along with interest @ 8.1 per annum.

Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab, submits that State is refunding principal amount to all the employees like petitioners, however, demand of interest has been stayed by Division Bench of this Court in LPA No. 649 of 2023.

Faced with this, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petition may be disposed of with a direction to respondents to refund principal amount as per the contribution made by the petitioners. MOHIT KUMAR 2025.07.29 17:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondents to refund the principal amount to the petitioners within three months from today.
