(ORAL) Case is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents No. 1 to 5 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondents No. 6 to 10. Notice of motion.

Mr. H.S.Sullar, DAG, Punjab, and Mr. Balbir Singh Saini, Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the State and respondent No. 6, respectively.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states that both the petitioners are major and have married against the wishes of respondents No. 6 to 10 and have sought protection to their life and liberty. They apprehend danger from respondents No. 6 to 10. The nikahnama evidencing their marriage is on record as Annexure P-3. The petitioners have submitted a representation dated 30.4.2020, Annexure P-4 to respondent No. 2.

As per the learned State counsel, statements of the parents of petitioner No. 1 have been recorded and they have no objection regarding their marriage.
