Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. Learned State counsel states that no other FIR has been registered against the petitioners and they have no known criminal antecedents. 4.
# Advocate appears and accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos. 2 to 4. He confirms the factum of the compromise having been effected between the parties and states that he has no objection to the quashing of the FIR in question.

In that view of the matter, even if this case is taken to its logical conclusion, it would only be an exercise in futility as the parties have already settled their differences. Therefore, no purpose would be served in wasting the time and resources of the State in pursuing this case to its pre-ordained end. It would, therefore, be better to give a quietus to the issue at this stage. 6.
Accordingly, the petition is allowed and FIR No. 218 dated 21.06.2021 under Sections 307, 452, 341, 506, 148, 149 IPC and %()%* registered at Police Station Ajnala, District Amritsar and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise shall stand quashed qua the petitioners subject to payment of Rs.5,000/- as costs to be paid to the High Court Legal Services Committee 7.
