Petitioners have filed this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No. 120 dated 01.05.2014 registered under sections 323/324/341/379/506/148/149 IPC and sections 307/326 IPC added later on at Police Station Basti Jodhewal, Ludhiana and subsequent proceedings arising therefrom on the basis of compromise.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of amicable settlement of the dispute, FIR in question deserves to be quashed.

Learned State counsel has opposed the plea.

Heard.

It appears that complainant appeared before this court pursuant to order passed by a coordinate bench and affirmed the factum of compromise. Matter was thereafter adjourned with the direction that State counsel may refer to medico legal report and injuries sustained by the injured persons in the occurrence as well as the opinion of doctor. CRM-M 24975 of 2014 view that FIR in question cannot be quashed on the basis of compromise. It is evident that accused were armed with sharp edged weapons and serious injuries were caused in the incident. For this reason, offence under section 307 IPC was added. There is thus, no ground made out for quashing of FIR on the basis of compromise. Dismissed.
