Prayer in this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a writ, directing respondents No.2 and 3 not to harass/implicate the petitioners in any false criminal case at the instance of respondents no.4 and 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the petitioners are major and have solemnized their marriage in accordance with law. However, the private respondents are not accepting their marriage and are adamant to separate them from each other by resorting to illegal means. Without going into the validity of the marriage of the petitioners, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 - Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka to take appropriate remedial measures on the representation dated 19.05.2020 (Annexure P-5) submitted by the petitioners as warranted by law.
