***** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI J. (ORAL) In the present petition, the claim of the petitioner is that though, the provident fund was being deducted from the salary of the petitioner but the same has not been deposited with the concerned authority by the respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that the provident fund was deducted from the salary of the petitioner from 2012 onwards till the date, he retired in the year 2020 but the same was not deposited, due to which, no amount of provident fund as per his entitlement has been paid to the petitioner. The prayer of the petitioner in the present petition is that the respondent-Municipal Corporation may kindly be directed to grant full provident fund, which has been deducted from his salary. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the grievance raised in the present petition has also been raised by the petitioner in the representation dated 02.03.2022 (Annexure P-1), which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a direction is issued to respondent No. 3 to decide the same by passing an appropriate speaking order in a time bound manner.

On the asking of the Court, Ms. Kanica Sachdeva, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and raises no objection in deciding the representation dated 02.03.2022 (Annexure P-1) in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

In view of the pleadings in the present petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner in the representation, respondent No. 3 is directed to decide the representation dated 02.03.2022 (Annexure P-1), by passing a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from the receipt of copy of this order. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
