(ORAL) Through this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. prayer has been made for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in a case arising from FIR No.108 dated 29.09.2014 registered under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 IPC at Police Station Mehta, District Amritsar. According to the prosecution, petitioner as a Sarpanch embezzled `11,22,092/- of the panchayat fund. Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that petitioner is in custody since 13.08.2018. She has falsely been implicated. Conclusion of trial may take a sufficient long time. No useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioner any more in jail. On the other hand, learned State counsel vehemently opposed the grant of regular bail to the petitioner.
