  The present appeal has been filed by the appellant against the impugned judgment dated 11.10.2022 passed by the learned Single Judge in Civil Writ Petition No. 3297 of 2020 whereby the petition filed by the appellant-petitioner was dismissed.

None appeared on behalf of the appellant. Even on the last date of hearing i.e. 19.02.2024 none had put in appearance for the appellant. However, the petitioner of the writ petitioner-appellant was dismissed by the learned Single Judge on 11.10.2022 while noticing that the appellant-petitioner was 46 years of age and was seeking quashing of the order dated 07.06.2013 (Annexure P-9) passed by the District Employment Officer, Sonepat whereby he had been held ineligible for government job on account of being overage and was advised to participate in job fairs being organized by the Employment Department. It has further been noticed by the District Employment Officer that there were vague complaints with regard to the vacancies and the work of office and the demand for enquiry to be made into all the allegations.  [2] noticed that the advertisement of the vacancies in the leading newspaper had been done and on account of the petitioner's age he was not eligible for government job. It is settled principle that there is only a right of consideration and there is no right of absolute appointment.

In such circumstances, dismissal of the writ petition by the learned Single Judge does not suffer from any infirmity. It has also to be noticed that the order was passed by the District Employment Officer on 07.06.2013 and the writ petition was filed after seven years in the year 2020. In such circumstances, no apparent relief can be granted to the appellant in the present appeal. Accordingly, the appeal filed by the appellant is dismissed. All the pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
