After having heard the learned counsel representing the parties, this writ petition can, conveniently, be disposed of on the first date of hearing.

Succinctly, the grievance of the petitioner is that he has been wrongly reverted from the post of Clerk to that of Mali-cum-Chowkidar without granting him any opportunity of hearing. 3.
The learned State counsel submits that in fact, the petitioner was wrongly promoted without considering the claim of his juniors, hence, no hearing was required.

Once the official is sought to be reverted, following the principles of natural justice is the minimum requirement. 5.
Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the order dated 20.03.2023 (Annexure P7) is set aside solely on a technical ground with the liberty to DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2023.03.28 14:31 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
2023:PHHC:044720 Civil Writ Petition No. 6418 of 2023 the respondents to pass a fresh order after granting an effective opportunity to the petitioner within a period of the next 15 days. The petitioner is directed to appear before the Financial Commissioner, Department of Rural Development and Panchayat, Punjab, on 02.04.2023 at 10.00A.M. for the hearing. The petitioner shall be entitled to file his representation in support of his claim.
