Coram:

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Inderjit Singh .....

Present:

Mr. Rahul Bhargava, Advocate for the petitioner. .....

Inderjit Singh, J.

The petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.140 dated 24.9.2015 registered for the offences under Sections 307 and 34 IPC at Police Station Ajnala, District Amritsar Rural.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and have gone through the record.

The FIR has been registered on the statement of Amandeep Kaur. As per the FIR on 23.9.2015 at about 9.00 a.m., she was alone in her room. Her husband and her nephew (son of sister) Balbir Singh had gone outside the house. Her 'Devar' (younger brother-in-law), Sonu alias Jitapresent petitioner and Baldev Singh 'Jeth' (elder brother-in-law) poured oil over her and set her on fire.

Learned counsel for the petitioner admitted that the burn HARPAL SINGH PARMAR 2016.08.05 10:59 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

Cr. Misc. No.M-26327 of 2016 [2] injuries were more than 60%.

Keeping in view the nature and gravity of the offences and the fact that the petitioner is named in the FIR and required for custodial interrogation, I do not find it a fit case where the present petitioner is entitled to the benefit of anticipatory bail. Therefore, finding no merit in this petition, the same is dismissed.
