(Oral) It is inter-alia argued that the petitioner is alleged to have been found in illegal possession of 250 grams intoxicant powder, a noncommercial quantity and is in custody since 1.2.2016 which is not controverted by the learned State counsel.

Having regard to the fact that the petitioner is in custody since 1.2.2016 and the trial is not likely to be concluded in near future, no useful purpose will be served by detaining the petitioner in jail. In view of the aforesaid, without meaning to express any opinion on the merits, the instant bail petition is allowed.
