This petition has been registered on receipt of e-mail from Sarabjit Kaur wife of Beant Singh wherein she had alleged that her husband had been picked up by the officials of the CIA Staff, Moga on 22.05.2020 at about 7.00 am and is being illegally detained.

Learned State counsel has filed affidavit of Jangjeet, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (D), Moga, District Moga wherein it is stated that FIR No.102 dated 23.05.2020, Police Station Dharamkot under Section 21 of the NDPS Act had been registered and Beant Singh was apprehended with intoxicating substance. Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Varinder Singh, CIA Staff also contends that the petitioner after his arrest on 23.05.2020 was produced before the Judicial Magistrate on 24.05.2020 and is presently in judicial custody. In view of the reply filed, no further directions are called for. The petition stands disposed of.
