Vs.

STATE OF PUNJAB AND ORS.

...Respondents

CORAM:- HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE JAGMOHAN BANSAL Present:- None for the petitioner Mr. Aman Dhir, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab *** JAGMOHAN BANSAL, J. (ORAL) 1.

The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of order dated 31.08.2000 whereby his claim for reinstatement as SPO was rejected. 2.

The petitioner was discharged from the post of SPO on 24.04.2000. Post of SPO is not a permanent post. It is a temporary post in terms of Section 17 of Police Act, 1861. A period of 25 years from the date of discharge has passed away. There seems no reason to set aside impugned order at this stage.

3.

There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. 4.

Dismissed with liberty to petitioner to move an appropriate application within three months from today, if cause survives. 5.

Pending application(s), if any, stands disposed of. (JAGMOHAN BANSAL) JUDGE September 24, 2025 Deepak DPA Whether Speaking/reasoned Yes/No Whether Reportable Yes/No DEEPAK BISSYAN 2025.09.24 18:46 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
