The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to release compensation to her family under Punjab Compensation to the Victims of Animal Attacks and Accidents Policy, 2023 (for short '2023 Policy') to the tune of Rs.5,00,000/-. She is further seeking direction to respondent No.2 to decide her representation dated 29.12.2025. 2.

The petitioner's husband died on 28.07.2024 in a road accident near village Barnala, District Mansa due to sudden appearance of a stray animal causing his scooty to lose balance and strike against a tree. She on 12.09.2024 filed claim of Rs.5,00,000/- under the 2023 Policy. Her claim was approved by District Level Compensation Committee, chaired by DC, Mansa. She preferred representation dated 29.12.2025 but to no avail.

Learned State counsel, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that claim of the petitioner has been processed and amount of compensation as per 2023 Policy would be released within three months from today.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake statement of both sides, the instant petition is disposed of.

The petitioner is at liberty to move an appropriate petition under Article 215 of Constitution of India if respondent does not comply with its commitment.
