SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Affidavit of petitioner No.2 filed in the Court today is taken on record.
This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondent No.4 father of petitioner No.2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 04.08.2015 (Annexure P-4) made by petitioner No.1. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Jyoti is 03.06.1995 as per copy of Matriculation Examination Certificate (Annexure P-1) and that of petitioner No.2-Baljit Singh is 22.02.1990 as per copy of Matriculation Examination Certificate (Annexure P-2). They got married on 03.08.2015. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-3.
CRM-M-26012-2015 -2In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur to look into the representation dated 04.08.2015 (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of certified copy of this order along with representation in his office.
However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them. August 06, 2015 (SURINDER GUPTA) Sachin M.
