SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 8, father and other relatives of petitioner No.1. Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 16.07.2015 (Annexure P-6) made by petitioner No.1. It has been stated that it is second marriage of petitioner No.1-Gurmeet Kaur and her first marriage has already been dissolved by decree of divorce dated 13.05.2015, Annexure P-1, passed by Additional District Judge, Patiala. It is submitted that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Gurmeet Kaur is 13.08.1984 as per copy of Aadhaar Card (Annexure P-3) and that of petitioner No.2-Ranjit Singh is 11.02.1977 as per copy of Aadhaar Card (Annexure P-4). They got married on 23.05.2015. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-5.

CRM-M-26015-2015 -2In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to look into the representation dated 16.07.2015 (Annexure P-6) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of certified copy of this order in his office.

However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them. August 06, 2015 (SURINDER GUPTA) Sachin M.
