Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.14 dated 31.05.2018 under Sections 7, 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 420 IPC, registered at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, District Ferozepur. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and have gone through the record.

From the record, I find that FIR in the present case has been got registered by Shahzada Ram, Superintendent (Retd.), Forest Department, Ferozepur. As per the FIR, an enquiry was conducted by the Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Feorzepur against the complainant in FIR No.15 dated 23.10.2016 under Section 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. CRM No.M-27010 of 2018 -2was not conducting the enquiry and called the complainant and demanded `3 lakhs as bribe and told the complainant that he will give him big benefit and will file untrace report in the case and the deal was finalized for `1.50 lakhs. As per the complainant version, he gave `1 lakh on 22.12.2016 and `50,000/- on 11.01.2017. Constable Navjeet Kumar returned `50,000/- but the remaining amount was not paid back.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the present case and in view of the allegations against the present petitioner regarding demanding and accepting bribe money, I do not find it a fit case where petitioner is entitled to benefit of anticipatory bail. Therefore, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed.
