Through the instant writ petition, the petitioner impugns the order dated 22.03.2023 (Annexure P-1) passed by the Controlling Authority under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972-cum-Assistant Labour Commissioner, Sangrur, as well as the order dated 17.07.2025 (Annexure P2) passed by the Appellate Authority. 2.

The sole contention raised by learned counsel for the petitioner is that, in view of the notification dated 01.07.2016, the provisions of the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 are not applicable in totality. 3.

Despite having been granted sufficient opportunities by this Court to address the arguments as to how the notification (supra) is applicable to employees of local authority(ies), learned counsel for the petitioner has failed to satisfy this Court on the said aspect. 4.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is hereby dismissed.
