Petitioner has impugned order dated 07.02.2019, Annexure P-3 passed by respondent no. 2 whereby his plea for extension of one year service has been turned down. It has been urged before the court that decision is arbitrary in nature. Case of the petitioner, who is at serial no. 5 in the seniority list, ought to have been considered as per the Instructions. A perusal of the impugned order shows that petitioner was working as a Supervisor in the Ranjit Sagar Dam Project and ShahpurKandi Township Project. His request for extension in service was rejected on the ground that post in the category of Supervisor was surplus. I find no infirmity with the decision. Besides, petitioner cannot claim extension in service as a mater of right. Petition is, thus, without any merit and is hereby dismissed.
