Seeking quashing of FIR No.0024 dated 15.09.2023 registered under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018 at Police Station Vigilance Bureau Range, Jalandhar, District Jalandhar, along with all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, the petitioner has come up before this Court by filing the present petition under Section 482 CrPC. 2.

Counsel for the State strenuously opposes the present petition. 3.

After arguing for some time and facing the streneous opposition from the State counsel, petitioner's counsel seeks permission to withdraw the present petition with a limited prayer that the investigation be completed within six months, for the reason that colleagues of the petitioner have already been promoted whereas the petitioner's promotion has been withheld due to the present FIR. Petitioner's counsel submits that due to some vested interests, the investigation has been purposely delayed to deny the petitioner's promotion and other benefits.

Given the submission of counsel for the petitioner, State is directed to complete the investigation within six months from today. If it is not done within the stipulated time period, petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court again on the ground of delay in the investigation.

Petition is disposed of as withdrawn in the terms mentioned above, pending applications, if any, stand disposed of.
