The present regular second appeal has been filed by the defendant-appellants challenging the judgment and decree dated 07.01.1997 passed by the First Appellate Court whereby the judgment and decree dated 28.11.1994 passed by the Trial Court was reversed and the suit of plaintiffrespondent No.1 was decreed with costs for recovery of Rs.6,997/-. 2.

The pecuniary subject matter of the original suit from which the present appeal has arisen is only Rs.6,997/-. As per amended provisions of Section 102 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, no second appeal shall lie from any decree when the subject matter of the original suit is for recovery of money not exceeding twenty-five thousand rupees. 3.

Accordingly, the present appeal is disposed off being not maintainable.
