Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. for grant of regular bail in case FIR No.133 dated 23.05.2008 under Sections 379, 411, 420 IPC (offence under Section 471 and 474 IPC added later on) registered at Police Station Nakodar, District Jalandhar. Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Ms.Shivali, Asstt. Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepted notice on behalf of the respondent-State and contested the petition.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned State counsel and have gone through the record. It has been brought to the notice of the Court that the present petitioner, who was earlier on regular bail, absented from the proceedings in Vineet Gulati 2016.09.19 14:45 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh the year 2010 and declared proclaimed offender and he was arrested in the

CRM No.M-27448 of 2016 -2year 2016. If the petitioner is again granted bail, there is every possibility of his absconding.

Therefore, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed.

However, as the petitioner is in custody since 16.02.2016, therefore, the trial Court is directed to decide the case expeditiously preferably within three months after the next date fixed, by giving short adjournments and if required, by adjourning the case on day-to-day basis.
