SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioner no. 1Prabhjot Kaur @ Parbhjot Kaur is major and is having affair with petitioner no. 2-Malkeet Singh. Against wishes of her parents and family members she has left her house and started living with petitioner no. 2. However, both have not married so far as petitioner no. 2 is still 20 years of age. Due to this reason family of petitioner no. 1 is posing threat to life and liberty of petitioners.

In view of the submission of learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on merit of this petition, the instant petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran to look into the representation dated 04.07.2018 (Annexure P-3), verify the facts and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office.

However, it is made clear that nothing observed in this order shall be treated as giving any protection or liberty to petitioners in any criminal, civil or any other proceedings instituted against them.
