Petitioner No.1-Kanya aged 19 years and 4 months and petitioner No.2Bablu aged 20 years and 8 months have approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction to official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondents No.4 to 6. 2.

It is contended on behalf of the petitioners that the petitioners are in a relationship since long and wish to marry each other but the parents of petitioner No.1-Kanya are against such relationship forcing petitioner No.1 to leave her parental home as her parents were going to forcibly marry her to somebody else.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that petitioner No.1 is presently residing with petitioner No.2 but they have not solemnized PANKAJ KAKKAR 2021.04.27 20:05 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-3952-2021 (O&M) marriage as petitioner No.2 is not of marriagable age yet being aged less than 21 years.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting anything as regards the alleged relationship of the petitioners, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, District Amritsar to look into the matter and to dispose of the representation dated 18.4.2021 (Annexure P-4) in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is any imminent threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary steps warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners. 5.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 18.4.2021 (Annexure P-4) be sent to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, District Amritsar so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.
