Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus directing the respondents to produce the detenue Divyansh Punia, aged 24 years before this Court and set him at liberty from the illegal custody of respondent No.4.

In compliance with the order dated 11.03.2026, detenue - Divyansh Punia has been produced before this Court by the concerned police officials. The Court interacted with the detenue in open Court. Upon specific query as to whether he is under any illegal detention or confinement at the hands of respondent No. 4, the detenue categorically stated that respondent No. 4 is his father and that he is residing with him out of his own free will, TRIPTI SAINI 2026.03.17 17:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRWP-2662-2026 (O&M) -2without any pressure, coercion or undue influence from any quarter. He has further stated that he does not wish to accompany or communicate with the petitioner, who is his mother.

In view of the categorical statement made by the detenue, who is a major and competent to take his own decisions, no case for issuance of a writ of habeas corpus is made out, as the essential ingredient of illegal detention is conspicuously absent.

Accordingly, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is hereby dismissed.
