(the aforesaid presence is being recorded through video conferencing since the proceedings are being conducted in Virtual Court) ***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The petitioners, who claim themselves to be major, have approached this Court seeking protection of their lives as they apprehend threat to the same, having married against the wishes of their parents and relatives.

The petitioners have already made representation dated 3.6.2020 (Annexure P-4) to the police.

The learned State counsel, upon instructions from ASI Baljinder Singh, has informed that the parties have settled the issues amongst themselves and that father of petitioner No.1-Rani has given in writing that he has no objection for marriage of his daughter with petitioner No.2-Saleem. ( 2 ) CRWP-3491-2020 (O&M) While refraining from making any expression as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction to Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, District Ludhiana (respondent No.2) to get the alleged threat perception of the petitioners examined expeditiously, in accordance with law and necessary steps as may be warranted under the facts and circumstances of the case be taken thereupon forthwith.

A copy of this order be sent to Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, District Ludhiana (respondent No.2), so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.

It is however, clarified that the aforesaid order shall not be construed to be an expression as regards validity of the alleged marriage of the parties.
