Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioners had filed an election petition bearing No. 29 of 2025 (Annexure P-4) regarding rejection of their nomination papers for election for the post of Sarpanch of village Nawan Pind, Bahadar, Tehsil and District Gurdaspur, which is not being decided and the same is pending adjudication since long, hence, the respondents be directed to decide the said election petition as per the provisions of the Punjab State Election Commission Act, 1994, in a time bound manner so that the petitioners does not suffer any prejudice. 2.

Mr. Rahul Rampal, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and submits that if both the parties coordinate and cooperate, all the efforts will be made to decide the election petition within a period of six months from the next date of hearing already fixed before the Election Tribunal.
