******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Petitioners seek protection to their life and liberty in a dispute with respondents No.5 to 9 over the possession on plot situated at Kanshi Ram Colony, Fazilka.

For the dispute regarding possession of the plot, civil remedy is available to the petitioners, which they can avail. Without expressing any opinion on merits, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka to look into the apprehension of petitioners regarding threat to their lives and liberty, verify the same and take appropriate action in accordance with law.

However, it is made clear that the above order will not be interpreted as providing protection to the petitioners from any action taken in any civil, criminal or any other proceedings initiated/pending against them in accordance with law.
