M.M.S. BEDI, J. (ORAL) Petitioner has been in custody w.e.f. 6.9.2014 for having been found in possession of 25 bottles of Rexcof measuring 100 mili litres each along with 300 intoxicating tablets of carisoprodol.

On asking of the Court, it has been informed by the State counsel that no witness has yet been examined. As the petitioner has been in custody for the last more than one year and prosecution has adopted a casual approach in production of evidence in violation of statutory right of the petitioner for expeditious disposal of the trial, this petition is disposed of, at this stage, with a direction that prosecution shall produce the witnesses expeditiously. In case the entire evidence of the prosecution is not produced within a period of four months after the

CRM-M-27079-2015 (O&M) next date of hearing fixed before the trial Court and the trial is not concluded within a period of six months after the said date, the trial Court shall release the petitioner on bail on his furnishing bail bonds/surety bonds to its satisfaction without any further directions from this Court.
