Daya Chaudhary, J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed for issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to protect the lives and liberty of the petitioners as they have solemnized marriage contrary to the wishes of private respondents and are apprehending threat at their instance. Both the petitioners, in person, are present in the Court. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have also moved a representation (Annexure P-5) dated 13.08.2015 to the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar for protection but no action has been taken thereupon. Learned counsel on instructions from petitioner No.2 submits that petitioner No.2 is ready to deposit an amount of `50,000/- by way of fixed deposit in the name of petitioner NEETU RANI 2015.08.18 11:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, notice on behalf of the State has been accepted by Ms. Ritu Punj, Addl. AG, Punjab. Without commenting anything on the merits of the case as well as validity of the marriage and keeping in view the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, District Amritsar (Punjab) to consider the representation (Annexure P-5) moved by the petitioners and take necessary action in accordance with law after hearing the petitioners as well as private respondents. In case, any serious threat is there to the petitioners at the instance of private respondents, their protection be ensured. It should also be ensured that the petitioner No.2 has deposited the aforesaid amount as undertaken by him.

Disposed of accordingly.
