Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter-alia, for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari quashing the inaction of the respondents in not promoting the petitioners from the post(s) of Masters to Lecturer (English). Learned counsel, on instructions from the petitioners submitted that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his clients would be satisfied in case the legal notice dated 16.08.2021 (P-18) is decided expeditiously.

Ms. Akshita Chahan, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 & 2, and raises no objection against the innocuous prayer of the petitioners.
