0 1 is praying for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to issue appointment letter to the petitioner on the post of Male Constable (General Duty) in terms of advertisement dated 28.06.2024 (Annexure P-5).

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has secured 71.82 marks and as per the final list declared by the respondents, the cut-off marks in the general category is also 71.82 marks, as such, the petitioner is entitled to be considered for appointment on the post of Male Constable (General Duty). He further submits that there are 96 vacancies which could not be filled from the general category and are still lying vacant.
