The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is to issue a writ in the nature of mandamus, to release higher pay scale/grades revised from time to time to the petitioner on the basis of higher qualification.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the relief as sought by the present petitioner has already been given to the similarly situated vide a judgment of this Court passed in CWP-20573 of 2010, titled Mukhtiar Singh and others vs. State of Punjab and others, decided on 25.01.2012. He, on instructions, submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if his representation dated 08.01.2024, Annexure P-14, is directed to be decided in a time bound manner.
