Ajay v. State Of Punjab
-1CRM-M-28516 of 2018
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA
AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M-28516 of 2018 Date of Decision: 06.08.2018 Ajay ....Petitioner
Versus
State of Punjab ....Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAMENDRA JAIN Present: - Mr. Sandeep Arora, Advocate, for the petitioner. Mr. Harpreet Multani, AAG, Punjab.
RAMENDRA JAIN, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the instant second petition under Section 439 Cr.P.C. has been made for grant of regular bail to petitioner Ajay in a case arising from FIR No.166 dated 17.09.2017 registered under Sections 452, 323, 324, 326, 307 and 34 IPC at Police Station Division No.3, Jalandhar. Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that Rajbir Singh @ Nikka has been granted bail in the cross-case by this Court vide order dated 29.05.2018 passed in CRM-M-11125 of 2018 in view of the fact that parties have compromised and quashing petition bearing CRM-M23864 of 2018 has also been filed by Rajvir Singh @ Nikka and others. The conclusion of trial may take a long time. No useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind bars. Learned State counsel has vehemently opposed the grant of regular bail to the petitioner.
Considering overall facts and circumstances, but without Ravinder Singh 2018.08.08 15:53 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed. Consequently, petitioner is ordered to be released on bail, on his furnishing
