(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.1 has performed marriage with petitioner No.2 against the wishes of his parents and other family members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at their instance. Notice of motion.

Mr. Naveen Sheoran, DAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondent - State.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that petitioner No.2 is a British citizen and both the petitioners have performed marriage against the wishes of family members of petitioner No.1.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that a representation dated 25.03.2019 was made to the Superintendent of MOHD YAKUB 2019.03.29 17:07 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

CRM-M No.14457 of 2019 Police, Ambala (Annexure P5), seeking necessary protection but no action has been taken so far in the matter.

Heard.

Without examining the question of validity or otherwise of marriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Ambala to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation (Annexure P5) and take appropriate action, if any, warranted in the circumstances. The Superintendent of Police, Ambala - respondent No.2 is further directed to convene a meeting between the petitioners and the parents of petitioner No.1, if so required. It is further directed that petitioner No.1 and 2 will submit the complete address of their parents along with the mobile phone numbers to enable respondent No.2, to comply with the directions.
