CORAM:
HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE RITU BAHRI
Present:
Mr. J.S. Ghumman, Advocate, for the petitioners. Ms. Manpreet Dhaliwal, AAG, Punjab.
Mr. Abhishek Singla, Advocate, for respondent No.2. **** RITU BAHRI, J. (Oral) Present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.117 dated 11.02.2010, under Sections 406, 498and 34 IPC, registered at Police Station Kotwali, District Bathinda, on the basis of compromise dated 27.05.2016 (Annexure P-2). Brief facts of the case are that the marriage of complainant was solemnized with petitioner No.2 Karanjit Singh @ Kiranjit Singh in the year 2004. After the marriage, the petiitoners have started harassing the complainant on account of demand of dowry. Due to incompatibility of temperament, both the parties could not live together as husband and wife. The relationship between them became strained and thereafter, the F.I.R was registered against the petitioners.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that keeping in view the peace and harmony, the matter has now been amicably settled between the parties with the intervention of respectable persons, vide compromise dated 27.05.2016 (Annexure P-2).
