Apprehending threat to their life and liberty, they have filed the present petition for protection. On asking of the Court, Mr.M.S.Nagra, AAG Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State.

The petitioners have placed on record copies of their Aadhar Cards (Annexures P-1 and P-2) as well as copies of their matriculation certificates (Annexures P-3 and P-4) as proof of their age and photographs (Annexure P-6) and copy of certificate (Annexure P5) regarding performance of their marriage.

This petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos.3 and 5 i.e. the SHO, Police Station, Division D, Lahori Gate, District Amritsar as well as the SHO, Police Station, Patti Morh, District Tarn, that representation, if any, filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for grant of protection of life and liberty to the petitioners. It is made clear that this order shall not be treated as a stamp of this Court regarding marriage of the parties . April 30, 2021.
